When choosing a location for an engagement session, I always recommend my couples pick some place they feel comfortable, or has significant meaning to them as a couple. Marissa & DJ came up with this before I even made that suggestion. They got engaged on a hike at Nottawasaga Bluffs. DJ planned the proposal and surprised Marissa after they spent some time hiking in the area together. Sharing this space with them and their stories was extra special in getting to know them better as a couple. I left with sore cheeks and a full heart. I cannot wait for their wedding!!!

From The Couple:
How did you choose the location for your session?: It's where we got engaged.
How did you two meet?: We connected online, but had a mutual friend that I went to high school with and DJ went to university with. We hung out with the three of us for our first couple dates which was just so much fun.
How did you fall in love?: We spent the summer before Covid together, hung out every minute that we weren't at work. We were on the same page from the moment we started hanging out, there was no games. It was refreshing and comforting.
What's your favourite thing about them?: There's so many things, he's my favourite person period! We always have fun together and he's just such a gentle but strong person inside and out - it blows my mind that I get to call him mine.
When/where did they propose?: He proposed on a beautiful day on December 29th while on a hike in the Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area - the same place our engagement photos were taken. We had a huge snow fall the day before and it was like the trees were filled with snow. Everything was so white and beautiful.
