As restrictions put in place to limit the spread of Covid 19 have relaxed across the province this summer but still include a restricted number of people who can gather, we’ve been seeing many smaller, intimate wedding celebrations take place and it’s truly heart-warming! We know so many couples have been forced to change their plans after spending months of planning and our hearts go out to all of you struggling with this new reality. That’s why we had to share this lovely story contributed by Angela, of Little Buds & Posies, a wedding florist serving the Grey Bruce area. It’s proof that, with a little flexibility, talented vendors and love, your plan B can be just what you dreamed of and so much more! We are so in love with the creativity, adaptability and perseverance of all of the couples of this year. May this be inspiration for any couple looking for an alternative with how to proceed in these unprecedented times. Sending so much love from a responsible distance!

From Angela:

It’s amazing what can happen when we step out to embrace life as it is and find a way to celebrate love. Andrea and Matt knew they wanted to start their lives together and they didn’t let COVID get in their way. Celebrating love with those near and dear to them they had the perfect wedding venue at Andrea’s childhood home at Bruce Beach. They had always wanted a wedding at the beach but that wasn’t going to happen with a large wedding. So in a way COVID helped them have their wedding at their dream location.

Initially the wedding was set to be right on the beach with the beautiful lake shore as their backdrop but it was too windy. That didn’t stop them from getting creative and adjusting their plans. Nothing was going to stop their nuptials!

With a beautiful lush evergreen hedge as their backdrop, I provided gold stands and floral arrangements for their ceremony. The ceremony arrangements were later used as centrepieces at their first meal as husband and wife. Andrea wanted everything to be simple, elegant, romantic and timeless and it was!
