Vendor Spotlight: Euclid Design Co.
Choosing the right professionals for your wedding is a personal decision and tends to lean on far more than just their portfolios alone. On a wedding day you spend so much time with your vendors, so having a connection with them makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. We want you to have a chance to get to know your vendors a little better before you make that tough decision on who to choose. We reached out to our wedding professionals on your behalf so you can become better acquainted with them.

What's a wedding trend you would like to see?
I can’t pick just one, so here goes: Contrasting colours for flowers; bold dress colours for the bride; dark flatware or dishware for receptions. And, now more than ever, I’d love to see more small, intimate wedding ceremonies in the forest.
What is your wind down ritual after a wedding day?
I watch out for familiar country roads and landmarks to tick by the closer I get to home. On the rare occasion I do a wedding in Toronto, I treat myself to bubble tea after my setup is complete.
If we were to come into your office, what would we see? (be honest)
On my desk right now I've got my journal, a mug of hot water, photos of me and my husband that I just received from Frances Beatty Photography, and about ten million hair elastics and bobby pins.
What would your theme song be?
I don’t actually listen to much music, so it’s hard to pick a song! Maybe it’s a little out there… but I love white noise.
What is your current obsession?
Crochet.
What is your current favourite local business in Georgian Bay?
Good Grief Coffee, in Thornbury. Love Alix and Jesse. We have their coffee every morning.
What is the best present you have ever received? Why?
Hands down my 2nd wedding anniversary card. It has the best mix of optimism, reflection, celebration, and all-embracing love from a truly thoughtful partner. I carry it in my journal and read it whenever I feel down.
Tell us about a creative piece you worked on that you're extremely proud of.
I was inspired by a vintage cathedral window that Bethany Puttkemery used in a 2019 wedding at District 28 events. I thought about how I could take inspiration from the lines and transform the shape into a copper structure. I loved the final result. The cherry on the top was being able to use it as the backdrop for a dear friend’s wedding in August 2020.
Favourite ice cream flavour?
Chocolate and peanut butter
What is your superhero power?
A head as level as a level. The ability to take a metaphor that should have been the size of a bachelor apartment, and build it into a sprawling manse that you could get lost wandering around in.
What is something strange or interesting people would never know just by looking at you?
I've been playing video games regularly and with great enthusiasm since I was about five years old. My first loves were Sim City, Sim Ant, and Hugo’s House of Horrors.
Tell us about your all time favourite wedding
One of my absolute favourite people in the whole world got married in Seattle last year. I was so lucky to be able to give her the gift of my creativity and to also be present and celebrate with them. The food was phenomenal -- if you’ve never tried to do family-style food at a wedding, I would strongly recommend it (post-COVID of course). The wedding speeches were also a highlight. I hope they have a vow renewal someday just so their parents could speak all over again!
What was the biggest blooper you've ever experienced at a wedding?
Other than be a florist who forget her bouquet when walking down the aisle at her own wedding? GREAT QUESTION.
Favourite snack on a wedding day?
Chicken strips from Superburger on my way home from a city wedding. Bubble tea from The Alley if I’m in the city.
What is the most common compliment you get from your couples after working with you?
That I can take the seeds of an idea and create something for them that exceeds their expectations and yet also feels totally them.
Who would win in a fight - Taco or Pizza?
Taco
Pineapple on pizza - OMG Yes or EW?
omg YES
The Office - British or American?
American
What is currently inspiring you?
How so many people are pulling together to support each other and pay forward goodwill, trust, patience and understanding in these crazy times.
What creative project are you working on right now?
New copper structure shapes and heaps of baby blankets!
