From the Photographer:
Having the opportunity to work with my couples before their wedding date is my favourite. Engagement sessions give us a chance to get to know each other better and understand each other’s camera personalities. It also gives me a chance to better understand them as a couple, which I love! These two were so playful and spent most of the session laughing and telling stories from their relationship. I frigging adore them! Trying to find a location for a late fall engagement can sometimes be tricky given the unpredictable weather. Ideally you want some place that’s beautiful, but offers shelter in case of snow or low temperatures. After looking at some great options, we opted for Coffin Ridge Boutique Winery, which is one of my all time favourite Georgian Bay places for oh-so-many reasons (have you tried their cider?!). I genuinely think it’s the best place to watch the sunset in all of Grey/Bruce. With the absolute frigid temperatures we got on the day, I’m extra grateful Stephanie and Gavin chose Coffin Ridge, because we were able to duck into the tasting room to warm up, grab a cider, and to warm ourselves by their fire. Cozy fireside cuddles are hard to beat!!
From the Couple:
How did you choose your location?: We chose Coffin Ridge as the backdrop for our engagement photos after discussing with our photographer, Frances. We wanted a late fall day that we could spend outdoors, but were not sure of a specific location. When Frances suggested Coffin Ridge it seemed like the perfect venue! Wine and great cider all together with the gorgeous vineyard and Georgian Bay in the background! Who could ask for more?
How did you meet?: Gavin and I have known each other since grade 4. Growing up we were close friends, but didn’t start dating until after we had been to university.
How did you fall in love?: They say friendships make for the best relationships, and I couldn’t agree more. Gavin is my best friend, and I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.
What's your favourite thing about them?: Gavin has a brilliant mind but is also a true romantic at heart. He is thoughtful and puts his family above all else.
When/where did they propose?: Gavin proposed during a holiday in Greece! He got down on one knee right as the sun hit the water on a secluded hilltop on Santorini. A night, and trip, that we will never forget!
