Intimate Collingwood Wedding at Bent Taco

Intimate bent taco wedding in collingwood

Couple:

Brie & Brandon

Location:

Bent Taco, Collingwood, Ontario

From the Photographer:

I loved the energy and authenticity of this wedding at Bent Taco in Collingwood. Its a great example of why I shoot weddings at all, it’s the people and the story and truth of it stripped of all the details. It's two people who love each other so much and just want to share it with the people who matter most in their lives. They wanted to make promises to each other in the presence of their son and their friends and family, and they wanted to eat tacos.

There was not a ton of planning, this can be chaotic, but Curtis Eichenberger who is a close friend, and the MC, also stepped in as last minute planner extraordinaire. It was real, simple, moment to moment, fun, and full of love.

From the Couple:

How did you choose your venue?: Overall we love tacos and Bent Taco is a place we have been going to since they opened. We knew we wanted an outdoor element and Bent has a great patio and vibe.

What was the most important thing for you for your wedding day?: That our friends and family had fun in a setting that was truly us.

Please describe any unique details from your day and why they were special to you: Brie - Brandon and our good friend built an eight foot feature wall and covered it in boxwood to be apart of our ceremony. We found a neon sign that said "feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty"

Brandon - One of my groomsmen surprised me and drove his 1960 Ford truck to my house and our photographer got some great shots with us and the truck.

What area of your wedding did you splurge on? (what was your top priority): We both splurged on what we wore. Brie was wearing a Rue De Seine gown, Brandon in a Tiger of Sweden suit.

What area of your wedding did you save on?: Planning the wedding ourselves helped our budget and we were able to prioritize food/drinks over decor.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?: The ceremony. When the officiant pronounced us husband and wife our 1 year old son started clapping on his own. It was the cutest thing and we will never forget it.

What wedding advice would you give to someone planning their wedding now?: Make it your own and be authentic to your relationship.

What was the atmosphere you were trying to create?: Bent Taco already has a great atmosphere we were able to play off it feeling like a fun night out in Collingwood.

What was your biggest challenge in the planning process?: Nothing, it was actually very easy. Bent Taco made everything easy and were open to all our ideas.

What was your first dance song?: Leon Bridges - Better Man
