I really wanted to capture a session that wasn't just your typical engagement shoot. I had posted back in March a list of adventure sessions I'd love to shoot and a sailboat was one of them. Hailey saw my story and reached out to me as her and her Fiancé Dan have a sailboat in Owen Sound. So when summer finally strolled around, I was super pumped about this shoot!

Hailey + Dan were super amazing hosts and invited my boyfriend Andrew and I out the week before to get to know the ropes (literally) a little bit before we actually did the shoot. We sailed out, had some wine, shared many laughs and got to know each other on a more personal level. This is something I like to do with my clients before or after a session, but I find it easier for them when they are more comfortable with getting to know me a bit first. My boyfriend also has a motor boat in Port Elgin, so bonding over the boat life was great! We have already made tentative plans to meet up and anchor somewhere together.
