Vivian & Kyle

Location:

From the Photographer:

Working with other vendors on creative shoots is one of my favourite things. We all get to play and flex our creative muscles, and we get to work alongside artists we admire and respect. I love that I get to see all the wheels in motion from beginning to end, and especially during. When we work on weddings, we get to partner with amazing artists, but our parts feel pretty separate. We aren’t always in the same space at the same time. When Amanda Jerome of Georgian Bay Wedding Society approached me to be part of a giveaway creative couple’s session, I was 100% in. The team she put together was outstanding. We had an incredible turnout for the giveaway portion, and picking a winner was a tough one! We lucked out SOOOOOO hard with Vivian & Kyle. They are such lovely humans, and the chemistry between them is palpable. In truth, it was hard to say goodbye at the end of the evening. If we hadn’t felt like we were crashing their date, we probably would have pulled up a chair and joined them for dinner at The Grey.

From the Couple:

How did you meet?: In 2011, Kyle started working at an insurance brokerage in Toronto. A year later Vivian joined the same company but never meets Kyle because they worked on a different floors. A couple years pass and Vivian transfers to the company’s head office. Not long after so does Kyle. Again both don’t meet for another few months because they worked in different departments. One day in the lobby, Vivian runs into two of her former colleagues who were with Kyle. They get to chatting and Vivian mentions she’s looking for players for her work volleyball team. Kyle claims that if he plays for her team they’ll definitely win and sure enough they did. Vivian sees his athletic talent and asks him to play some pickup games a few weekends later. After a couple of scheduling conflicts she gives up. A couple years pass and Kyle and Vivian reconnect at a mutual colleagues going away party. They share a plate of nachos and the rest is history.

How did you fall in love?: He would throw discrete winks at me every time we passed each other at work. When we passed each other at the elevators, the hallways, the city streets, his wink would trigger a huge smile on my face. My heart would race and I would get major butterflies in my stomach- All the cliche signs of falling in love! We shared these little moments for months and each and every time it gave us all the feels. It was our way of saying I love you when we couldn’t say it aloud.

When/where did they propose?: We got engaged in May 2019 . We went for a motorcycle ride and stopped at an old wood bridge over the Saugeen River just outside of Port Elgin, On.

How did you choose the location for your wedding?: We both knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. We originally wanted to host it in our backyard but quickly realized that it would not be logistically possible. So we started our hunt for the perfect setting for our perfect day. The first location we visited was Keppel Croft Gardens in Big Bay, On. We instantly knew that it was The One. We loved the serenity and homey feelings it evoked. We loved the variety of gardens and landscaping features that were so beautifully designed. You could undoubtedly tell that the homeowners poured their love into it. We still get butterflies, no pun intended, when we think about how perfect our wedding location is.

What's your favourite thing about them?: Vivian- His endearing sense of humour.
Kyle- ‘everything’

Big massive thanks to Vivian & Kyle for being so very awesome, trusting this team and sharing their love story with us!
